This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was acquired by the current owner in 1998 and is powered by a replacement 427ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. It is refinished in white with blue stripes over a blue and white interior. Features include a Positraction differential, a removable hardtop, a white convertible soft top, 15″ Turbine-style aluminum wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, power windows, a cabin heater, an AM/FM radio, chrome bumpers, and retractable headlights. A 2018 service included the installation of a brake booster and replacement of the valve covers and the brake master cylinder, lines, calipers, and pads. This C2 is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner with partial service records and a clean Michigan title in the name of the current owner’s business.
The fiberglass body left the factory finished in Nassau Blue (976) and was refinished in white with a blue center stripe and blue pinstripes. A 1967 stinger-style hood is fitted, and additional features include a removable hardtop, a white convertible soft top, flip-up headlights, chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, a side-exit exhaust system, and a retractable antenna. Paint chips and checking are notes.
The 15″ Turbine-style aluminum wheels feature knock-off spinners and are mounted with 205/75 Hankook Optimo H724 tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by four-wheel discs. A brake booster was added in 2018, and the brake master cylinder, lines, calipers, and pads were also replaced.
The cabin features two bucket seats recovered in white vinyl as well as color-coordinated door panels and a blue dashboard and carpets. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, power windows, and lap belts. Faded areas of the carpet are noted.
The three-spoke teakwood steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 41k miles, approximately 5k miles of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 427ci V8 was installed under previous ownership and is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and chrome valve covers. It is said to have been rebuilt in 2000.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and a Positraction differential.
