This 1968 Pontiac Firebird convertible was modified under previous ownership with a fuel-injected 383ci stroker V8, a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission, and a Positraction rear end. The car is finished in green over Deluxe Ivy Gold and equipped with a tan convertible top, 14″ Rallye II wheels, power-assisted steering and front disc brakes, a Hotchkis X-brace, a Detroit Speed front sway bar, an aftermarket dual exhaust system with headers, a Bluetooth stereo, remote power locks, and an alarm system. This Firebird convertible was acquired by the seller in 2021 and is now offered with an EFI controller, car cover, spare parts, and a Washington title in the seller’s name.The car was finished from the factory in Verdoro Green (Q) and was reportedly repainted around 2018. According to the seller, the convertible top and boot cover were also replaced at that time. Features include chrome-finished bumpers and rocker-panel moldings, along with quad headlights and dual exhaust outlets. A touched up paint chip is shown in the gallery.The 14″ Rallye II wheels wear PMD center caps and are mounted with 205/70 BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The suspension was reportedly refreshed and the shocks replaced in 2018.
The interior features front bucket seats and a rear bench that were re-trimmed in Deluxe Ivy Gold during prior ownership. Sound deadening is also said to have been added throughout the cabin, and features include an aftermarket Bluetooth stereo wired to Hertz speakers, an alarm system, remote power locks, a heater, an aftermarket center console with cupholders, and Firebird-branded floor mats. The seller reportedly added a 2″ extension to the driver’s seat frame.The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer and a fuel level gauge. An aftermarket tachometer has been added to the steering column and Summit gauges for oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature have been mounted below the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 78k miles, approximately 1000 of which have been added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.The replacement 383ci stroker V8 was sourced from Pace Performance and installed under previous ownership. The engine is equipped with FiTech fuel injection, a four-core radiator, aftermarket headers, and a 2.5″ dual exhaust system. The in-line fuel filter and alternator are said to have been replaced during current ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement 700R4 four-speed-automatic transmission with overdrive and a Positraction differential with 3.55:1 gearing.
