This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette coupe was acquiredin 1986, and a refurbishment in 2008 is said to have included installing a 383ci stroker V8 mated to a Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a PosiTraction differential. The car is finished in Riverside Red over red vinyl upholstery, and suspension and braking components were reportedly replaced during the refurbishment. Equipment includes 15″ turbine-style wheels, aftermarket disc brakes, power steering, an Edelbrock intake manifold and cylinder heads, an AED carburetor, a revised camshaft, Keith Black pistons, tubular exhaust headers, air conditioning, power windows, and an AM/FM radio.
The fiberglass body is finished in Riverside Red (923) and features flip-up headlights, fender vents, polished rocker panel trim, and chrome bumperettes. Close-up photos of the paint, trim, and imperfections are included in the gallery.
The 15″ turbine wheels are mounted with 215/70 Michelin Radial All-Season tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. This example is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by aftermarket power-assisted disc brakes.
The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in red vinyl joined by color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include air conditioning, a heater, an AM/FM radio, an analog clock, power windows, and lap belts.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.
The 383ci stroker V8 is said to have been installed during the refurbishment in 2008 and is fitted with an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and cylinder heads, ARP studs, a COMP Cams camshaft, Keith Black pistons, and an Eagle crankshaft. An AED carburetor is installed along with MSD ignition components and tubular exhaust headers.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement close-ratio Tremec five-speed manual transmission that was installed in 2008 as well as a PosiTraction differential.
