This 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS coupe is powered by a replacement 409ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and is finished in red over red vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a Hurst shifter, a center console, Stewart-Warner auxiliary instrumentation, front bucket seats, 15″ Rally-style wheels, dual four-barrel carburetors, and a dual exhaust system.
The body left the factory finished in Roman Red (923) and is said to have been repainted under prior ownership. Details include an engine-turned taillight panel and side moldings, chrome bumpers, quad headlamps, 409 and SS badging, quarter panel-mounted antennas, and dual exhaust outlets.
The 15″ Rally-style wheels wear spinner center caps and chrome trim rings and are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. A full-size non-matching spare is located in the trunk. Braking is handled by drums at all four corners.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench reupholstered in red vinyl joined by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Equipment includes a heater and defroster, a center console, a Hurst shifter, a passenger grab handle, vent windows, aluminum trim accents, polished door sills, Impala-branded rubber floor mats, and an aftermarket digital stereo.
The two-spoke steering wheel frames a column-mounted tachometer and a horizontal 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges indicating coolant temperature and fuel level. Three Stewart-Warner auxiliary gauges are mounted below the center of the dashboard. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 22k miles.
The replacement 409ci V8 was installed under prior ownership and features dual four-barrel carburetors, an orange-finished engine block and cylinder heads, and a black dual snorkel air cleaner assembly. An oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A replacement dual exhaust system has been installed.
