This 1956 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door hardtop was initially built at the Van Nuys, California assembly plant, and modifications completed in 2005 included installing a Ram Jet 350ci V8 backed by a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission. The car rides on 17″ American Racing wheels as well as suspension sourced from a 2000 Camaro, and additional equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, Vintage Air climate control, and trunk-mounted audio components. The exterior has been refinished in bronze and beige, and the color scheme extends to the refreshed interior. Clean title.
The car was refinished in its current combination Sierra Gold and Adobe Beige in 2005. Details include hooded headlights, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers and trim. The windshield wipers are not connected.
American Racing 17″ wheels are mounted with Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. The suspension was reportedly sourced from a 2000 Chevrolet Camaro, and braking is provided by discs at each corner.
The refreshed cabin houses a split-folding front bench seat upholstered in two-tone leather and velour fabric. Interior appointments include Vintage Air climate control, a padded dashboard, a locking glovebox, and an retro-style head unit linked to a trunk-mounted CD changer, amplifier, and subwoofers.
The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 110-mph speedometer along with gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. A trio of aftermarket readouts is mounted below the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 4,400 miles, which is said to represent the miles traveled since the engine was installed. Approximately 100 miles have been added under current ownership.
Fuel-injected 350ci V8 was installed in 2005 and is equipped with iron Vortec heads and a mild roller camshaft. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed 700R4 automatic transmission.
